Automotive & Manufacturing Security Testing — vehicles, plants and connected products

Connected vehicles and smart factories add new ways in: telematics, OTA updates, companion apps and plant networks linked to IT. India’s draft AIS-189 rules (2026) propose a cyber security management system for vehicles, and export markets already require UN R155. We test vehicles, ECUs, apps and OT networks safely, and give your engineers clear findings and evidence for your cyber security file.

    Overview

Testing for vehicles, plants and the cloud behind them.

An attacker does not need to touch the car or the machine. A connected-car API that trusts the VIN, an OTA server that accepts unsigned updates, or a vendor VPN into the plant network is enough. We test the vehicle, the backend and the factory floor with safe, agreed methods, and map findings to ISO/SAE 21434 and IEC 62443.

    FAQ

    Questions before you start

    Is AIS-189 mandatory?−

Not yet. In June 2026 the road transport ministry published draft rules that would make a cyber security management system under AIS-189 (and software updates under AIS-190) mandatory, in phases starting with highly automated vehicles. Check the final notification; you can start building test evidence now.

Do we need UN R155 in India?+

Not directly, as India is not a party to the UNECE 1958 Agreement. It does apply to vehicles you export to markets such as the EU, Japan and Korea, where type approval needs a cyber security management system and evidence of testing.

    Does ISO/SAE 21434 require penetration testing?+

The standard asks for verification and validation of cyber security measures, and penetration testing is the usual way to validate them. We plan tests from your threat analysis (TARA) so the results fit your work products.

Can you test a live plant safely?+

Yes. We start with passive and read-only checks, test in agreed windows with your engineers present, avoid denial-of-service and write actions on production PLCs, and get written consent before any higher-risk test.

Do you issue type approval or certification?+

No. Type approval comes from testing agencies such as ARAI or ICAT, and TISAX or IEC 62443 certification from accredited bodies. We do the security testing and give you the evidence they and your customers ask for.
